A Valentine's Race hosted by the Neuse Pamlico Sound Women's Coalition, Inc., that will benefit individuals with Sickle Cell Disease in the surrounding counties, Carteret, Craven, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt and Wayne with financial assistance.

The Neuse Pamlico Sound Women's Coalition is hosting the first annual Cupid Crawl 5K Walk/Run for Sickle Cell on Saturday, March 12. The mission of the NPSWC is to "enhance the quality of life within our communities." This inaugural race looks to do so by celebrating those who are living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and assisting those who cannot afford treatment, transportation or the expense of the other daily challenges that come along with battling this disease.
SCD is a devastating blood disease that affects millions worldwide, with over 300,000 of those living with it right here in the US. There is only one FDA approved medication for treatment & a shortage of specialists to treat the condition. This often overlooked disease affects the minority community at an alarming rate, yet funding for research and treatment is being eliminated. That is why the proceeds from the Cupid Crawl 5K will remain in our community.
The Cupid Crawl 5K will award overall winners, and every participant will receive a special Valentine's goody! There will be awards for 1st & 2nd places in the following age groups: 9-under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. We will also have special awards for WALKERS!! We invite you to register today and come out for this fun, new event and help many in need in our local community!
ALL WHO REGISTER BEFORE FEBRUARY 8 WILL BE ENTERED IN A DRAWING FOR A KEVIN REDDICK AUTOGRAPHED NFL LEAGUE FOOTBALL!! We will also have a drawing for another signed, league football on race days -- all who finish the race will be eligible to win!!
Registration fee will increase to $30 on race day, so please register early!!
